Start-up "StreetScooter" Takes Advantage of Rising E-truck Demand

etrucks

E-truck sales are rising strongly - Deutsche Post is building its own e-trucks in Germany with its own former university start-up "StreetScooter". The stock of small e-trucks up to 1 ton is rising to about 6500 in 2017. About 60% of those are StreetScooters, driven by the Post itself. In 2017, approximately 2000 StreetScooters were sold for a base price of € 32,000. Thus, the StreetScooter would share 6th place of the German e-car sales statistics 2017 with the Tesla S. Deutsche Post has not entered into production from strategic planning, but simply for lack of alternatives. Classic truck manufacturers like Volvo, MAN and Daimler have announced plans to build heavy electric trucks. Elon Musk has also announced his Tesla truck. Until now all still “paper-trucks”.
