GBD@11th Better Future Conference by WELT AM SONNTAG

The 11th Better Future Conference by WELT AM SONNTAG once again took place at the Journalists’ Club of Axel Springer, on the 19th floor, with a stunning view across Berlin. As impressive as the setting was the caliber of the guests (including Minister of Health Nina Warken, Veronika Grimm and Omid Nouripour and others).

One takeaway stood out:

When it comes to decarbonizing heavy-duty logistics, execution beats theory.

In the discussion between Moritz Seiffert (Business Insider), Guido Wübben (DHL Group), and Sylvia Diederichsmeier (Mercedes-Benz Trucks), DHL’s approach became clear: deploy what works - now.

Battery-electric trucks like the Mercedes-Benz eActros are not a distant vision. They are being rolled out at scale. Pragmatic. Scalable. Immediate.

And hydrogen? Still part of the conversation- but not yet the deciding factor.
Infrastructure and real-world readiness ultimately determine what makes it onto the road.

Many thanks to the organizers for a truly high-level discussion and an evening to match. 😉
