The ramp-up of the hydrogen economy is making slow progress. This would actually be a matter of urgency. After all,
this versatile energy carrier is set to make significant contribution to climate protection - as a raw material for
industry, a storage facility for green electricity or a substitute for natural gas. On the one hand, there are great
opportunities and possibilities, on the other hand, finding answers to central questions about infrastructure,
technology, regulations, business models or cooperation sometimes takes a very long time, sometimes too long.
The Handelsblatt Hydrogen Summit 2025 took place in Saarbrücken to discuss the
importance of hydrogen and the latest developments and trends in hydrogen
technology. The two-day event on May 21 and 22 welcomed a large number of
high-ranking experts from industry, science and politics, who shared their
experiences and insights and provided insights into the future of the hydrogen
economy. [Karin Witsch/ Handelsblatt/ Foto Handelsblatt]
