Actually terms like new mobility, smart mobility, urban mobility and others are generating a lot of buzz. There are many new terms coming up; whose meanings are obscure.
We have worked out a classification for a better understanding with our international business partners. Inspired by a lot of studies we’ve subdivided new mobility into three main groups: new mobility services, e-mobility and connected car. The term ‘new mobility services’ includes all the digital-based services like carsharing, ridesharing (in advance, long distance), e-hailing (real-time, short distance), intermodal mobility services, parking services and logistics services. The ‘e-mobility’ sector comprises all of the hardware with an electric drive and the adequate infrastructure. The third group is called ‘connected car’ which covers all technologies that enable cars to communicate with themselves, their drivers and the environment. (please click on graphic to enlarge)
