1st workshop under G7 Collaborative Activities for SDGs
At the G7 summit in Ise-Shima, heads of state and government expressed their determination to take ambitious domestic action in order to contribute substantially to the global transition to sustainable economies. G7 environment ministers recognized the benefits of focusing on standout activities that could catalyze other countries' actions on the SDGs and encourage the continuation of ongoing discussions and collaborations on specific collaborative activities. In this context, the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety hold a workshop.
The aim of the event is to support the discussions on successful and joint approaches to implementing sustainable consumption and production patterns and SDG 12 by bringing together decision makers and representatives from governments, business, science and civil society of G7 countries. The focus will be on successful approaches to reducing food waste and implementing sustainable lifestyles and education, as well as on cooperation in the field of consumer information, incl. eco-labeling.
