43% growth predicted in the next 5 years for the ridesharing market in Germany

“Driver” - in a double sense - of this growth is the rapidly changing user behavior, from both supply and demand side. But the legislation will be the decisive parameter. We should start in Germany with a liberalization of mobility legislation in rural areas. In the right combination, it would create a win-win-win situation for passengers, public transport and start-ups.

Each protagonist (automotive industry, public transport, start-ups) is currently focusing on innovative new mobility offers in cities. According to 84% of experts (ENMS Survey), this will remain the case. Nevertheless, 77% of the experts in the ENMS survey (European New Mobility Expert Survey) see "rural areas" as an attractive niche market for start-ups.
