BMW & Daimer plan Joint Venture for sustainable urban mobility and digital business solutions
BMW Group and Daimler AG plan to combine and strategically expand their existing on-demand mobility offering in the areas of CarSharing, Ride-Hailing, Parking, Charging and Multimodality.

The antitrust authorities still have to agree to the merger. In the future, BMW and Daimler will then each hold 50% of the joint venture.
Most media report on the joint venture between DN and Car2Go, which would at the moment
change the fundamentals of the german carsharing market.

Car2Go & DriveNow Fusion would result in a 75% market share in the German car sharing market

Today, both major German car sharing providers together have 1.6 million customers, which corresponds to a market share of around 75%. Car2Go with 886,000 customers is ahead of DriveNow with 720.000 , Flinkster, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, lands third with 315.000 customers in Germany.
Important to differentiate, that Car2go and DriveNow are the only providers offering

free-float carsharing. Stadtmobil and book'n drive offer partly combined models.
